Mechanical Strength Decay Evaluation of Excavation Unloaded Rock Mass under Freeze-Thaw Conditions

The quality of excavated and unloaded rock masses on steep high slopes in cold regions is prone to deterioration, which turn affects the long-term stability safety slopes. Based a triaxial unloading-damage test sandstone, unloading quantity was used analyze evolution law damage; freeze-thaw cycle unloaded-damaged samples carried out, it found that average change porosity reloading peak strength damage rate after increased with increase number cycles, characteristics were independent value confining pressure at time damage. An exponential decay model used, based freeze-thaw, can take into account effect established, its ability predict verified by experimental data. research results provide reference for evaluation degradation during slope excavation regions.
